It has been a quiet but exciting year at Swift Sparrow Photography. We welcomed the addition of a sweet and spirited little bundle of joy on March 27th. As many of you may already know I have been taking time off from my business to focus on my own family. The downtime with my two kids, husband, and dog has been absolutely wonderful! Of course photography being an obsession of mine, I was able to continue working on some personal projects where time allowed. Here are few highlights from 2017 of family and friends. Hope you enjoy! xo
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you in 2018!
Elliott and I traveled to southern Ontario for a few weeks this October to visit family and friends. The weather was warm and sunny for the first week (t-shirt weather!), but cool and rainy for the second week. Regardless of the chill in the air, the family drove to the countryside to the farm. Our family tradition growing up was to visit the farm first, and then drive down the old country road to the neighbouring apple orchard. I remember rows and rows of apple trees, a wagon ride on bales of hay, pumpkin patches that run for miles, the smell of homemade pies wafting through the air, fresh apple cider, local honey, and the infamous haunted maze (made of cornstalks and bales of hay). I was excited to bring Elliott, now four years old, to places where many of my fondest childhood memories were made.
Although many things have changed (a lot of the farms and countryside in southern Ontario have turned into cookie-cutter subdivisions), many things have stayed the same (the farms of my childhood). I am thankful that he was able to experience picking his own food and playing in bales of hay on the farm, and that his grandparents were also there to enjoy the experience with their grandson.
Below are some highlights from the apple orchard. Enjoy!
Two besties playing in the park on a sunny afternoon. <3 Thank you to Thebacha Creations for the lovely tutus!
I had a fun morning playing with this young lady! We blew bubbles, went hunting for wildflowers, and played dress up. Cambria even found a caterpillar! Thanks for coming out to play with me Cambria, your giggles are infectious! <3
I had the honour of photographing this beautiful family on the most perfect spring day in Yellowknife. It was hard to choose which photographs to put on the blog (I wanted to choose them all!). Thank you to the Duval Loubert Family for allowing me the wonderful opportunity of photographing your loved ones. You radiate pure joy and happiness and it was so infectious. My cheeks were hurting from all the smiling and laughter. :-)
