Swift Sparrow Photography held it's 3rd annual Fall Family Mini Sessions in Yellowknife recently and it was a huge success! Each session was 20 minutes each and included the photographer's time, talent, and artistic post-processing of 5 high resolution images. Once the mini session event opened for booking all 10 spaces sold out within hours and a waitlist started. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for your support. I am so happy that I am able to provide a fun family event (where you can convince almost anyone to have their photograph taken for 20 minutes, even if they are a little less than enthusiastic. ;) ).
A central Yellowknife location was chosen for both the morning and evening sessions. Optional props were provided, however families were also encouraged to bring out their own special items to further personalize their photos. It was wonderful seeing both new and familiar faces throughout the day. A heartfelt thank you to all the families; each and every one of you brought with you such a great attitude and lots of enthusiasm. You made this event such an incredibly positive experience for me and I look forward to planning the next Fall Family Mini Session event in 2016! Remember to keep checking back on us often as we may be holding other special events throughout the year.
Below are some highlights of my favourite moments throughout the day. Feel free to share this blog post with friends and family to show off your gorgeous family photos!
Introducing sweet and bright-eyed baby Sidney, who was a whole 10 days old when she came into the studio for her family photographs. She was a very happy and laid back little girl, and also very curious! For our 2.5 hour session, she slept for all of 5 minutes. Later I heard that she had a lovely 3 hour nap AFTER the photo session, haha. I love how brightly her personality shown throughout the session!
I had the pleasure of photographing a group of beautiful and bright young ladies last weekend, in celebration of Laila's 14th birthday. It was a warm and windy day in Yellowknife, so we ducked into the woods for some portraits and bubble blowing fun before venturing to the top of Pilot's Monument (where the wind blew fierce!).
Happy birthday Laila, I hope you had a beautiful and fun weekend with family and friends! xo
I had the pleasure of photographing these three cousins in Yellowknife during the long weekend holiday, and it was a lot of fun! The girls played tea party during our teddy bear picnic, blew bubbles, and just had a fun being in each other's company before having to part ways back for home. I hope that one day these young ladies will be able to cherish the photographs and memories of the long, beautiful summer days spent together.
Here are a few highlights from our evening. Enjoy!
