I don't know what it is about sprinklers, but anytime we turn on the tap, things get a little crazy in our front yard. Maybe it was just all of that energy bottled up from the long, dark, and cold winter in Yellowknife which we could finally set loose. This is how we celebrate summer North of 60!
Have you recently become engaged to the love of your life and would be interested in modeling in exchange for photos? I am looking for a fun, quirky, and spontaneous couple that are not shy of being in front of the camera. Because the days are so long, you must be comfortable with coming out to the photo session either early in the morning or late in the evening. In return you will receive a select number of digital negatives with printing rights!
How do you apply? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with a story of you and your loved one; how you met, your first date, and/or how you got engaged. I will choose the couple based on responses.
Photo session will take place in Yellowknife.
Thanks for your interest!
How many of us are guilty of taking photos of our family (or having them taken by a photographer) only to have them hidden away on your computer's hard drive? I for one am guilty for keeping my family photos tucked away like hidden gems, mostly because life gets in the way and the errand of printing photos gets put on the back burner.
I've decided that enough is enough.
It is time to give our family portraits the honour and love they deserve. So, for Father's Day, my partner received these two beautiful canvases at the door. I took these photos in the last few months and they have held special meaning to our family. Each are stretched canvas; the one on the left is a 12 x 15 with a thin frame, and the one on the right is a 16 x 20 thick frame with overlapping photo. They now hang proudly in our bedroom.
This has compelled me to offer print and canvas services to all my clients, past and present. If you would like to honour your photos, please let me help you create your family's masterpiece. You already have the photos on your hard drive, now let's create something beautiful to hang on your wall for you and your loved ones to cherish.

Ever considered having your engagement photos done three weeks before your wedding? This couple was all for it! Just think; final preparations are being made for a day you have been waiting so patiently for and the air is full of anticipation. Nervousness, excitement, joy, and thinking about spending the rest of your life with your friend and soul mate are probably just a few of the emotions running high. Engagement photos are so much fun because you get to spend some quality time alone enjoying the moment and bonding with your partner (well, and me :)).
I look forward to seeing Jessica and Terry next, at the wedding! xo
Lately I've been feeling stuck in a creative rut with my photography, so I signed up for Dave Brosha's Portraiture + Compositing Workshop here in Yellowknife. Dave gave us the tools and inspiration to help us plan and execute our vision and challenged us to "think outside the box". Once we were out on location, we had a few minutes to choose a spot, prepare, and let the magic happen. If we weren't photographing, we were acting as trusty assistants to our fellow Photographers. What an incredible experience! Here are the results of that day:
