As 2016 comes to a close, I thought it would be fun to share a few highlights from a recent modeling session with sweet baby Alex and her beautiful, loving momma. It has been a busy and exciting 2016 and I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store. If you haven't heard already, our own family is expecting baby #2 in just a couple months and we can't wait to finally meet her. Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays (if you are lucky enough to have time off!) and I look forward to taking on new clients again in June 2017.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Baby Reid and family before their big trip across the Atlantic. It was a cozy afternoon at my home studio for our modeling session, with tea, quiet music, and good conversation. I love how laid back newborn + family sessions are. No stress, no problem! :-) Congratulations Stephanie and Tim on you sweet little bundle. Yellowknife misses you!
Are you expecting or recently gave birth to your little bundle? Jennifer at Swift Sparrow Photography is looking for 1-2 newborns to come out to the studio during a weekday in November. In return you will be gifted a selection of professional, high-res digital images to cherish for a lifetime.
Elliott and I traveled to southern Ontario for a few weeks this October to visit family and friends. The weather was warm and sunny for the first week (t-shirt weather!), but cool and rainy for the second week. Regardless of the chill in the air, the family drove to the countryside to the farm. Our family tradition growing up was to visit the farm first, and then drive down the old country road to the neighbouring apple orchard. I remember rows and rows of apple trees, a wagon ride on bales of hay, pumpkin patches that run for miles, the smell of homemade pies wafting through the air, fresh apple cider, local honey, and the infamous haunted maze (made of cornstalks and bales of hay). I was excited to bring Elliott, now four years old, to places where many of my fondest childhood memories were made.
Although many things have changed (a lot of the farms and countryside in southern Ontario have turned into cookie-cutter subdivisions), many things have stayed the same (the farms of my childhood). I am thankful that he was able to experience picking his own food and playing in bales of hay on the farm, and that his grandparents were also there to enjoy the experience with their grandson.
Below are some highlights from the apple orchard. Enjoy!
Although I am not taking any new clients until the Spring 2017 (after baby #2 is born), I have been happily photographing behind the scenes for personal projects. One recent session I would love to share is the wonderful evening spent playing with Dawn and Hugo in their backyard. These two = So. Much. Love. <3
